New cosmetic, dermatological or pharmaceutical compositions (A) comprise a physiologically acceptable medium containing at least one 4-N-substituted or 4-N,N-disubstituted 6-methyl-pyrimidine-2,4-diamine derivative (I). Most of the compounds (I) are new. New cosmetic, dermatological or pharmaceutical compositions (A) comprise a physiologically acceptable medium containing at least one 6-methyl-pyrimidine-2,4-diamine derivative of formula (I) or its salt. R1, R2 = H (but not both H) or 1-20C (preferably 1-6C) linear or branched, saturated or unsaturated hydrocarbyl, optionally substituted (os) by one or more groups Q; or NR1R2 = 5-8 membered non-aromatic heterocycle (optionally containing at least one O, S and/or N heteroatom), os by (a) 1-6C alkyl (itself os by one or more -NR''R''') and/or (b) cycloalkyl or a 5-8 membered, aromatic or non-aromatic heterocycle (optionally containing at least one O, S and/or N heteroatom), both os by 1-6C alkyl; Q = NH2, CN, CF3, OZ, COOZ, NRR', -Si(Me)2OH, -Si(Me)2OEt, -Si(Me)2OCH2Ph, -Si(Me)2OMe, -Si(CHMe2)2OEt, 5-8 membered aromatic or non-aromatic heterocycle (containing at least one O, S and/or N heteroatom and os by 1-6C alkyl) or 5-8 membered cycloalkyl (os by 1-6C alkyl, itself os by NR''R''' and/or by 5-8 membered cycloalkyl); Z = H or optionally unsaturated 1-4C alkyl; R, R' = optionally unsaturated 1-8C alkyl; or NRR' = 5-8 membered, aromatic or non-aromatic heterocycle (optionally containing at least one O, S and/or N heteroatom), os by 1-6C alkyl (itself os by one or more NR''R'''); R'', R''' = H or saturated or unsaturated 1-6C hydrocarbyl. Independent claims are included for: (a) (I) and their salts as new compounds, with the exception of 2-amino-4-morpholino-6-methyl-pyrimidine and 2-amino-4-piperidino-6-methylpyrimidine; and (b) the preparation of the new compounds (I).
