Deactivation of rhenium-based catalysts for the metathesis of propene
摘要:
The regenerability of supported Re 2 O 7 metathesis catalysts promoted with tetra-alkyltin compounds has been studied in a micro-catalytic flow reactor using propene metathesis as the model reaction. It appeared that the activity of a deactivated catalyst can be partly restored by an additional treatment with the promoter. The activity of a deactivated catalyst could also be partly restored by regeneration in a stream of oxygen, followed by renewed promoter addition. Each regeneration cycle resulted in some loss of activity. Temperature-programmed reduction and metal-content analysis techniques indicated that this loss of activity was due to SnO 2 which remained behind on the surface of the catalyst and interacted with the rhenium oxide.
