New heteroaromatic polymers for third-order nonlinear optics
摘要：
Measurements of optical third-harmonic generation have been made on novel heteroaromatic pi -conjugated polymer thin films. The third-order nonlinear optical susceptibility chi /sup (3)/ of poly(thiophene-2,5-diyl pyridine-2,5-diyl) (PTPY), which has the strongest intramolecular charge transfer among the polymers discussed in this work, is 1.5*10/sup -10/ esu at the near three-photon resonance wavelength.<>
