Chemical Communication in the True Bugs and Parasitoid Exploitation
摘要:
Heteroptera suck vertebrate and invertebrate blood, or plant sap, and they do it above or below ground, under or on water, even on salt water. There are some 35,000 species of Heteroptera worldwide, including 2,500 predaceous species, yet sexual pheromones are fully known for only a few species. Nevertheless, scattered behavioral, morphological, and chemical evidence suggests that attract-ant pheromones are widespread in the advanced terrestrial infraorders of Heteroptera: Cimicomorpha and Pentatomomorpha (Aldrich, 1988a, 1988b) (Fig. 9.1).
