Interfacial Surface Energy between the Superfluid Phases of He3

We report the first measurements of σ, the surface energy associated with the interface between the A and B phases of superfluid He as they coexist at T. At melting pressure we find σ=6×10erg cmin no magnetic field (TT=0.79) rising to σ=1.6×10erg cmin a magnetic field of 4 kOe (TT=0.5). Theoretical calculations that we present give an estimate about 50% larger.
