Wave scattering from non-random fractal surfaces
摘要:
We consider here the scattering of optical or electromagnetic waves from perfectly conducting rough surfaces modelled by a multi-scale bandlimited deterministic continuous fractal function. A generalized Rayleigh solution is developed analytically for wave scattering from such fractal surfaces. We numerically calculate the coupling strengths and relate the angular scattering energy distribution to the fractal descriptors of the surface. We find that the slope of the coupling strengths as a function of their corresponding spatial frequencies depends monotonically on the fractal dimension of the scattering surface.
