Application of combination of AIS and Beidou terminal in dynamic ship monitoring

In order to overcome the performance limitations of Automatic Identification System(AIS),the AVR microprocessor Atmega128 is selected as the kernel processor to study the application prospect and implementation of the combination of AIS and Beidou terminal in dynamic ship monitoring.AIS and Beidou terminal are responsible for transmitting ships' information and ships' location information to Atmega128 respectively,and the Atmega128 sends these information to the Beidou terminal after decoding and encoding.Although AIS is limited by the communication distance during the sea voyage,the Beidou terminal can transmit the information of the ship successfully.Meanwhile,Atmega128 transmit the other ships' information received by AIS to PC for displaying and monitoring.Ship locating function and Beidou terminal's two-way communication capability make the ship monitoring range extend from offshore areas to distant waters,and make the ship monitoring and management more standard and effective.
