摘要：
The article examines the discourse on the legal and socio-economic status of middle Afro-Jamaican women. It demonstrates the contribution of discourse to the early Afro-Caribbean women's movement or activism and explores the early black feminist thought of contradictions about the Caribbean. It explores the women's view of their status in relation to men, white women, and lower-class women of their own race and how they understood their marginalization in a Jamaican society.
