A pressurised aerosol cosmetic compsn. (I), which spontaneously foams on contact with a surface to be treated (pref. hair), comprises: (a) an aq. vehicle contg. at least one anionic and/or cationic polymer (II) having foaming power; and (b) a propellant mixt. contg. dimethyl ether in combination with at least one other propellant selected from volatile hydrocarbons and volatile halohydrocarbons. Also claimed are an aerosol container contg. (I); and a method for treating keratin materials using (I).
