摘要:
In this study we examined telomerase activity of skin tumors and normal skin tissues quantitatively and found that malignant skin tumors had generally high telomerase activity, while benign skin tumors and normal skin tissues had no or low telomerase activity. Among malignant skin tumors basal cell carcinomas had much higher telomerase activity than the others. In addition, the level of telomerase activity of the other keratinocyte-originated tumors (actinic keratosis, Bowen's disease, squamous cell carcinoma) showed close relation to their malignancy. p53 protein expression appears to increase the rate of apoptosis, especially in basal cell carcinomas and squamous cell carcinomas on sun-exposed sites. bcl-2 protein expression was shown strongly in malignant melanoma, but did not reduce the rate of apoptosis. There was no relation between the telomerase activity and p53 or bcl-2 protein expression in the skin tumors as well as apoptosis.
