Fructose supplementation exacerbates glucose intolerance and causes adipose tissue inflammation in PPARβ/δ-deficient mice.Fructose amplifies the oxLDL-CD36-JNK pathway in PPARβ/δ-deficient mice adipose tissue.Adipocytes exposed to fructose showed increased nuclear protein levels of Nrf2.Activation of PPARβ/δ prevents Nrf2 activation and the reduction in insulin sensitivity caused by fructose in adipocytes.
