摘要：

In this paper we study parallel Posix threads based implementation of Ant Colony Optimization for solving the Vehicle Routing Problem. The algorithm is based on a homogeneous multi-colony approach and uses asynchronous communication in finding solutions. The aim of such approach is to examine potential advantage of executing parallel algorithm within the multicore processor environment. We analyze the effect of proposed method on the quality of solution with respect to execution and communication time.
