In 45 out of 62 young children, the absorption into the circulation of unaltered egg protein from the digestive tract was demonstrated by the occurrence of a local reaction at the site of previous intracutaneous injection of a special serum obtained from a person sensitive to eggs. The reaction generally occurred 45-75 minutes after ingestion of egg.-D. P. Cuthbertson.
