The study aimed to evaluate the inclusion of cashew's by-product (Anacardium occidentale L.) on the concentrations and molar ratios of volatile fatty acids (VFA) and on the acetate:propionate relationship of the ruminal liquid of sheep that received isofibrous and isoproteics experimental diets containing the by-product in increasing levels (zero, 19 %, 38 % and 52 %). Twenty male sheep were distributed in four diets with percentile inclusion of the cashew by- product. The experiment followed a randomly block delineation in a spli-split plot design, having in the parcels the diets and in the sub-parcels the harvest times (zero, two, five, eight hours after-prandial), with five replications. The diet with 19 % of by-product presented greater total concentration of AGV than diet with 52 % and it was similar to the diets with zero and 38 % of by-product. The relation acetate: propionate was not affected by the inclusion of cashew's by-product. Voltar
