18FDG PET/CT findings in mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue lymphoma of the larynx: a case report and literature review
摘要:
Laryngeal mucosa-associated lymphoid tissue(MALT) lymphoma is rare.To the best of our knowledge, only 25 cases of laryngeal MALT lymphoma have been reported. Here,we report a case of laryngeal MALT lymphoma diagnosed in a 35-year-old female. After a diagnosis from a biopsy, the patient received two cycles of CHOP chemotherapy.18FDG PET/CT was performed,as the CHOP treatment was ineffective.PET/CT showed FDG accumulation only in the larynx and identified stage IE lymphoma. We switched from CHOP chemotherapy to radiotherapy. After 3 months,18FDG PET/CT scan showed that the lesions in the larynx were in complete remission after a dose of 27 Gy irradiation.A review of the literature on laryngeal MALT lymphoma and the use of PET/CT in MALT showed that radiotherapy is the first-line treatment for stage I and II MALT lymphoma.
