The 1 H-NMR spectra of stannanes of the type (C 5 H 5 ) 4- n SnR n , with RCH 3 , C 2 H 5 , n -C 4 H 9 , and C 6 H 5 and n =0, 1, 2, and 3, are reported and discussed. The five cyclopentadienyl protons show only one sharp signal at approx. τ=4, which has satellites at both sides originating from H 117 Sn- and H 119 Sn-coupling. These coupling constants 117 SnC 5 H 5 and 119 SnC 5 H 5 show a dependence on the type and number of additional substituents of the stannanes.
