An electroacoustic transducer comprising a fluidtight housing at the rear of an acoustic diaphragm. A cartridge, including at least one wall enclosing a rear chamber and compressing a density optimizing damping means therein, is inserted in the housing dividing the latter into a front chamber adjacent the diaphragm and an air duct communicating the front chamber with the rear chamber, providing an optimized acoustic resistance-compliance network providing optimum acoustic response comparable to the electrical input.
