The increase in contact eczemas to preservatives has taken a predominant place in the recent allergo-dermatological literature. The two groups of substances concerned are the formaldehyde releasers and, especially, the isothiazolinones, with an explosion in the number of cases of allergy due to these substances in both domestic and occupational situations. Rubber vulcanization accelerators and modern dressings for leg ulcers are the subject of recent updates. Finally, some allergens, such as certain essential oils and dimethylfumarate, remain important.
