The mate choice mind: Studying mate preference, aversion and social cognition in the female poeciliid brain
摘要:
The same neuromolecular pathways govern poeciliid female responses in two mating systems. The pathway associated with mate choice involves genes and brain regions associated with learning.Genes associated with prosociality are more predictive of social contexts that vary by social vigilance.Synaptic plasticity genes are more strongly associated with mate choice contexts.Blocking key synaptic plasticity processes in the brain can block female preference.
