Herpes simplex virus latency
摘要：
In recent years it has become increasingly apparent that a large number of animal viruses can establish long-term persistent infections in their host. The latent infection caused by herpes simplex virus (HSV) in man is perhaps the best known example of one such lifelong host/parasite relationship. Since the nature of this relationship has been the subject of several recent reviews1–3 the present chapter will concentrate on recent developments and possible growing points in the subject.
