Functional Studies of Human Secretory Leukocyte Protease Inhibitor
摘要：
The balance between the concentrations of proteases and their inhibitors is of vital importance to the physiology of a number of tissues including the lung. The proteases in the lung mainly come from infiltrating neutrophils and macrophages and when released from these cells can cause extensive tissue degradation unless they are inactivated by protease inhibitors. One of the major protease inhibitors found in the lung tissue is alpha-l-protease inhibitor (alpha-l-PI) which blocks the activity of neutrophil elastase (1) and cathepsin G (2).
