A case of a 14-year-old boy with a histologically confirmed hepatocellular carcinoma is presented. In the blood serum and in the homogenates of certain organs, a specific fetal α1-globulin was found that was identical with fetoprotein of human fetuses. The level of serum fetoprotein increased in the course of the last 5 months of the patient's life from 20 mg. per 100 ml. to 90 mg. per 100 ml....
