The miniaturized total chemiral analysis system is a concept for on-line monitoring in volving classiral analytical techniques and photolithographically defined microstructures. Examples of glass microstructures for electrophoresis are given. The results obtained indicate a dramatically reduced reagent consumption, faster separations and access to novel types of analysis techniques
